ACTIVITIES
CD Burnfest
Several open source software will be distributed and copied for free. This will be a rare chance to grab a copy of desired program for your computing needs
Seminars and Fora
Be updated with the latest in open source through seminars and technical sessions in office productivity, internet, multimedia, server/database and other issues and concerns on open source. Resource persons will be leaders and volunteers from the FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) community.
Jobs Fair
Be employed. Know the in-demand and high-paying jobs requiring open source expertise. The jobs fair will be participated by firms who target FOSS enthusiasts and skilled computer users.
Installfest
Demonstration and workshop on the easiness of FOSS. Participants can bring their computers or laptops for installation.
FOSS and IT Exhibits
An exposition/exhibit highlighting FOSS at work, local business or organizations using FOSS in their operations, and latest IT/FOSS products and trends.
Blockbusters and Games
Experience the other side of FOSS through the cinematic appeal of movies and the excitement of games done through FOSS
Everybody's welcome to join in!
a. exhibit - showcase your products and services and occupy one (1) booth in the IT and FOSS exhibits
b. jobs fair - participate as employer to recruit individuals with open source knowledge, skills and expertise
c. sponsor/partner to either:
1. adopt one seminar/technical session by providing snack good for 50 persons (fruit juice and sandwich/cupcake). your organization will be cited during the opening ceremonies and in the conduct of the specific seminar
2. provide ICT equipment for use during the event's activities
3. provide cash donation for the food and accommodation of the guests and participants and for supplies and materials necessary in the SFD conduct
d. volunteer - participate as resource person, expert for the Installfest, Burnfest and technical sessions, and/or as volunteer for the logistics and manpower needs of the event
e. participant - attend as participant to learn free and open source software and intend to participate in all activities
